SME’s from IT and ITES sector to focus on niche areas, special customer base and
niche markets for growth – Advises Dr. Kiran Karnik, President NASSCOM

Hyderabad Software Exporters Association (HYSEA ) hosted a special CEO forum with Padma Shri Dr.Kiran Karnik on 10th April’ 07 from 4.45pm to 5.30pm at the Hydermahal, ITC Grand Kakatiya Sheraton. The focus of Dr.Kiran Karnik’s address was on a strategic road map for the SMEs in the IT & ITES sector post Union Budget 2007. Dr.Karnik touched upon the following during his talk:
SME’s are the emerging big players and the future of IT industry in India looks very bright.
The new tax structure and the SEZ scheme are discriminatory towards SME’s.
NASSCOM and HYSEA will work together to safeguard the business interest of the SME sector.
SME’s should target rapidly growing new IT destinations outside the US like Eastern Europe, South America and Africa where business overheads are lower.
Dr.Anil Jampala, President, HYSEA welcomed the chief guest and also took this occasion to felicitate Dr.Karnik for his receiving the award of Padma Shri during this year from the Union government. The meeting was attended by a large number of CEOs from the IT & ITES sector.
