Reaching Out

I am delighted to note our efforts in reaching out to various stake holders.

After a very long time, we published the membership directory, which will be very handy to distribute to potential customers. HYSEA Secretariat has done a commendable job to bring this in time for GITEX, Dubai.

I attended the 2nd workshop organized by Indo-US council for engineering education (IUCEE) at Washington DC from 29th August to 31st. This is an important area for sustained growth of our members and HYSEA is playing a key role. 108 people attended this workshop from India and US.

American society for engineering education (ASEE) supported this event in the US. IUCEE has been able to generate good amount of funding for this initiative from the industry and this corpus will be utilized to bench mark engineering education in India with support from various educational institutions in the US. As a first step faculty development institutes have been proposed to be setup in India with the help of various stake holders, i.e. the Govt, the Industry and the academia.

I also made use of this opportunity to make a presentation at the World Bank, courtesy of Mr. Randeep Sudan, Advisor IT/ITES sector World Bank. I shared some of the best practices we have been following at HYSEA that can be of potential benefit to other countries as well and discussed the challenges we are facing. Representatives from IFC (International Finance Corporation) also attended the presentation and expressed keen interest in companies looking for late-stage funding.

HYSEA made its debut at GITEX, thanks to the support extended by Government of Andhra Pradesh. Suresh, Secretary, HYSEA and Brig. Harikumar, Executive Director, HYSEA spent 6 days in Dubai and made valuable contacts. Our stall in the India Pavilion was inaugurated by Shri R. Damodar Reddy, IT&C minister of Andhra Pradesh. The Minister also released the HYSEA Directory on this occasion. Consul General of India, Dubai, Mr. V. Raajamani, Senior Officials from IT&C Dept, Govt of AP and Senior Officials from ESC (Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council), Govt of India were also present on the occasion.

Brig. Harikumar also made use of this opportunity and joined a Government of AP delegation, led by Shri. R. Damodar Reddy, Minister of IT&C which visited the upcoming Emirate Ras-al-Khaimah (RAK).

We have been working with Project Management Institute Pearl City Chapter (PMIPCC) to help develop Project Management competencies among member companies thru our Project Management Forum.

We have been working very closely with Cyberabad Security Council and other stake holders to insure and safeguard the business interest of IT&ITES sector in the state of AP.

I look forward to more active participation in the forums and in all HYSEA activities. Please send your inputs, suggestions, feedback, and constructive criticism to make HYSEA a dynamic and vibrant organization.

Yours,

Dr. Anil K. Jampala
President
