14th Issue - July 2007
Change is Constant

I had an occasion to meet briefly with the out-going President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on July 12th at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan. While the grandeur and ornate halls are breathtaking, the simplicity, humbleness and people centricity of the people's president are some thing to remember. It is also interesting to note that we are witnessing another first in the history of India a woman as head of the state.

I am glad HYSEA is also in tune with the changing times and yes, we started a women's forum and Padmaja will be driving it.

I take this opportunity to welcome new members of the Managing Committee: Padmaja, Arjun, Suheim, Sateesh & Vish. We have also constituted various HYSEA forums to give focus to our activities. I am sure all forums will pickup speed like the HR and Students forums. We just decided on the activities for the students and we seek your involvement in these programs.

We had tête-à-têtes with Prof. Vijay Mahajan, former dean of ISB and Prof. Raj Reddy of CMU who have given wonderful ideas we intend to follow-up. We are also actively working on promoting animation and gaming as well as new format for IT trade-show. I am sure the newly announced waverock will set a trend for many more new ventures.

RoI: The Managing Committee has been focusing on achieving a very good Return on Investment (RoI) for our members. Every interaction we are planning is geared towards this and we look forward for your active participation and support.

We will also be a starting a new HYSEA chapter in Vijayawada and the activities will be kickstarted with a 2-day leadership workshop.

I look forward to more active participation in the forums and in all HYSEA activities. Please send your inputs, suggestions, feedback, and constructive criticism to make HYSEA a dynamic and vibrant organization.

Yours,

Dr. Anil K. Jampala
President
