Hyderabad Software Exporters Association today celebrated its 15th annual day awards function. This year awards were special as it showcased Andhra Pradesh contribution in the national growth of IT & ITES sector. The function also highlighted the skills of emerging entrepreneurs and talents available in the state that were instrumental in the multi faceted growth of the sector in particular. |

Speaking on the occasion Dr Anil K Jampala, President , HYSEA said “The event showcases winners of product, services and quality awards from the small and medium IT companies in the state”. He further added “HYSEA is committed to facilitate and develop the small and medium enterprises in Andhra Pradesh as this will help the state in growing export revenues and employment.”
HYSEA continues to pursue its vision, which is “To position Andhra Pradesh as the leading intellectual capital of the world by nurturing entrepreneurship, research and innovation to achieve global excellence in IT products and services.” HYSEA ’s on-going initiatives and activities continue to reflect this vision.

| Membership Status |
 |
21 members joined HYSEA last year. Our total membership now stands at 322. Our members continue to diligently pursue and obtain globally recognized and accepted CMMI,ISO quality certification as well as BS ISO/IEC 27001:2005 information security certification.

| Interaction with the Government |
 |
HYSEA interacts with the Government of Andhra Pradesh and STPI with a view to participate in policy formulation and support programme implementation for realizing HYSEA ’s vision..
Many of our members actively participated in the deliberations of the various think-tanks, convened by the IT&C department of the government, with the objective of establishing a leadership position for Andhra Pradesh in the global IT/ITES marketplace. Several of our SME members also provided valuable inputs on the IT policy, which were duly communicated to the IT&C department. These are expected to be included in the IT policy to be announced in the near future.
Technology day : HYSEA organized its 4th Annual Technology Day on “Exploring New Technology Trends” that are creating opportunities for further growth in India. | Seminar on Implementation of Labour Laws in IT & ITES Industry : |

HYSEA hosted an interactive seminar on “Implementation of Labour Laws in IT and ITES Industry” on 9th April 2007. Mr.Sur Reddy, Deputy Commissioner of Labour, Govt of AP along with a team of senior officers conducted the seminar. The seminar was followed by an hour of Q&A.

| HYSEA CEO Forum – Interactive Meeting with Dr.Kiran Karnik |

HYSEA hosted an exclusive CEO forum with Padma Shri Dr.Kiran Karnik on 10th April’ 07, at ITC Grand Kakatiya Sheraton. The focus of Dr.Kiran Karnik’s address was on a strategic road map for the SMEs in the IT & ITES sector post Union Budget 2007. Dr.Karnik touched upon the following during his talk:

| Brigadier(retd).Harikumar, Executive Director’s Visit to Chinasoft 2007 |

Our Executive Director Brig.Harikumar visited Chengdu, China as a delegate for Chinasoft 2007.
Chinasoft is an annual event since 2003, held in April as a two day event in Chengdu, an emerging reputed software centre in China. The event has developed into a leading International Software Expo in West China. The seminar along with exhibition aims at enhancing the international cooperation in software industry, showcasing China’s abundant resources and potential, corporate strengths to the world, with the theme of industrial interaction, innovative development and setting up a platform for cooperation in software products, projects, technology, capital and talents. |

| HR Forum: |

The HR Forum meeting discussed in detail the need to develop a HR Handbook for HYSEA members incorporating the HR best practices. In this regard it was decided HR forum should work closely with NHRD and companies who already have HR best practices handbook.

| 4th HYSEA Leadership Workshop: |
 |
HYSEA conducted the valedictory function of 4th HYSEA Leadership Workshop Series on April 28th 2007.
In all 38 associates from the member companies participated in the series of workshops between Feb 3rd and Apr 28th 2007. Faculty for these workshops constituted of senior leaders of the IT and ITES industry to share their rich experiences. The series covered topics of relevance in today’s Leadership scenario like: Managing Talent, Managing Change, Creativity and Creative Problem Solving, Performance Management, Mentoring and Coaching, Leadership without Boundaries, Work Life Balance and Communication Skills.

| HYSEA Annual Athletics Meet 2006-07 |

The HYSEA Annual Athletics Meet was held at Railway Recreation Club grounds on 29th April 2007. Over 250 associates from member companies took part in the meet.
