Participating in an interactive seminar organized by the Market Communication Forum of HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Exporters Association), Prof. Vijay Mahajan, Former Dean of Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and holder of John P. Harbin Centennial Chair in Business in the McCombs School of Business, The University of Texas at Austin stressed the importance and need for entrepreneurship if Hyderabad has to emerge as a global competitor.
Prof. Vijay Mahajan urged the entrepreneurs in Hyderabad to shift focus from selling to the world’s wealthiest 14% people to, the other 86% of people living in developing economies of Africa, South America and Eastern Europe. He expressed the view that to achieve new growth and profitability this was essential, as developed economies have become oversaturated, over competitive and are aging.
Prof. Vijay Mahajan also laid stress on giving importance to developing a portfolio of services not just Information Technology if Hyderabad has to emerge as a global competitor.
