Speaking on the occasion Dr. Anil Jampala, President, HYSEA highlighted various HYSEA activities during the year to promote the growth of IT/ITES industry, software product development in the state, development of knowledge base and competencies through various HYSEA Forums. He touched upon focus of HYSEA on SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives undertaken by various HYSEA member companies. He stated that HYSEA has started a chapter at Vijayawada and has plans to expand its activities to other Tier II cities in the state.
During this occasion Sri A. S. Murthy, Director & Sr. Vice President, Satyam Computer Services Ltd., spoke about the CSR dimension as business differentiator and highlighted the various initiatives taken by Satyam Computer Services Ltd., in this direction.
Mr. Shailendra K Joshi, Secretary to Govt of AP., IT&C Department explained the various initiative taken by the government of Andhra Pradesh to maintain the growth of the IT industry in the state and the various steps to connect industry and academia to improve the employability of engineering students from the state.
Mr. Som Mittal, President, NASSCOM, gave away the awards for Best Export Performance in the IT and ITES category to both Indian and MNC companies, Best Product, Best Innovation, and Highest Security Standards achieved, Student Awards and for Services rendered to the IT industry.
During his address Mr. Som Mittal reviewed the overall scenario of IT and ITES industry in the country and urged the Union government to extend the sunset clause under the Software Technology Parks of India beyond 2009 to enable small and medium enterprises to sustain growth.
