Eclipse DemoCamp in Hyderabad
25th June 2008

Eclipse released its version 3.4 (Ganymede). To mark this occasion, the Eclipse foundation has organized a series of Demo camps around the world. The Hyderabad edition held on 25th June, 2008 at Taj Banjara, was organized by hyd-eclipse.org (a HYSEA initiative), co-sponsored by Progress Software & Pramati Technologies. The Demo camp provided an opportunity to discuss the new features and projects in the Ganymede release, and also to present a few case studies of some interesting use cases of Eclipse. This is the first such event, which has largest participants around the world organized under Eclipse foundation.

‘Good participation from the Eclipse community in Hyderabad’

The Demo Camp evoked a strong interest in the Hyderabad Eclipse community. There were about 80 participants from a variety of 17 other organizations in and around Hyderabad.

The event concluded with a social-hour where the members of the Hyderabad Eclipse Development Community that attended the event networked and shared their experiences.

The sessions about the new enhanced features of Eclipse 3.4 & Improved User Interface were found useful and appreciated by the participants. Eclipse is an open source community, whose projects are focused on building an extensible development platform, runtimes and application frameworks for building, deploying and managing software across the entire software lifecycle. Many people know us, and hopefully love us, as a Java IDE but Eclipse is much more than a Java IDE.
