16th Issue - December 2007
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

I wish you a very happy new year. For a change, HYSEA activities in the New Year are being kicked off with a blood donation drive, organized by CSR Forum.

Many of you have been very active in the CSR area. We wanted to build on such activities in two ways:

Compile the activities being organized by our member companies. So, please do send us updates on your activities from time to time.
Complement our member activities with HYSEA ’s own activities. Since many of our members are SMEs, we felt we can create an environment for the associates of these companies to participate. This is being kicked off with a blood donation drive, being organized in many locations. Mr. Rajanna, CSR Forum Leader and Mr. Narsimha Rao of Infosys are actively work with the Managing Committee to anchor events in the month of January as well as organize them throughout the year. We seek your active support and participation in these events. We also request your inputs.

To complement CSR activities, we also launched HYSEA Volunteer network (Citizen’s Social Responsibility!). Alumni of various HYSEA programs are requested to be part of this network. Two areas identified for them are:

Assist HYSEA Forum Leaders and in other HYSEA activities
Reach out to engineering and MCA students when the volunteers visit their home towns and interact with them. My visits in the last week of December to these colleges had been an eye opener and the need to make the students industry ready is a Himalayan task and all of us can participate and help in this regard.

I look forward to more active participation in the forums and in all HYSEA activities. Please send your inputs, suggestions, feedback, and constructive criticism to make HYSEA a dynamic and vibrant organization.

Yours,

Dr. Anil K. Jampala
President
